In this course you will be given the opportunity to discover what magic can be created through digital art making programs. In our current world, technology and digital formats are constantly growing, expanding, and ever changing. It is becoming more and more important to understand and become proficient in these various programs. High school art students are constantly wondering how an art career can transfer into the real world, and this is the first step. Understanding how to create, change or edit your artwork in a digital format is extremely important. While you will be learning to create artwork from start to finish in these programs, you will also be learning how to edit, change, and enhance your artworks that have been created with traditional media. For this class, you will need to have an open mind, enjoy problem solving, and not be afraid of making mistakes!

CMYK Color Mode

Why Convert Color Modes?
The RGB scheme has a greater range of colors than CMYK and can produce colors that are more vivid and vibrant. These colors are beyond the range of CMYK to reproduce and will come out darker and more dull in print than what is seen on the monitor or display. Because the RGB color mode has the full range of colors, documents shown in CMYK mode will always show up precisely on-screen. RGB colors, however, will not necessarily appear in print as they do on-screen. To accurately print the document or image, it must be converted from its original RGB format to CMYK. It is possible to do this by using software such as Adobe Photoshop or Adobe Illustrator.
