Right vs. Left Brain:
The right vs. left brain theory is that the 2 hemispheres of a persons brain control different parts of a persons personality. The right brain controls the more creative side of one's personality while the left controls the more analytical side.

What are Contour Drawings?
—Contour lines describe 3-D form, moving into and across an object to indicate volume. (An outline only follows outer boundaries.)

Blind Contours:
• A contour drawing where the artist is not allowed to look at their paper or lift their pencil while drawing. |
Modified Contours:
• A contour drawing is a line drawing where the artist is allowed to look at their paper while drawing. The artist should look at their paper 30% of the time and at the object 70%. |

Using two sheets of (8 ½” X 11”) paper divided in half you will practice drawing 4 different forms from observation. (Use the forms we have in class as your reference).

In this exercise you will practice drawing your eye to the best of your ability.
Once you have done that we will draw along with the video as a class to understand some of the nuances of drawing a human eye. |
